Practicing Teacher Websites

During my research on practicing teacher websites, I came across many that were very interesting. I found two websites that focused on Pre-Kindergarten and two that focused on Kindergarten. The following four websites were some of my favorites:
  1. www.prekinders.com
  2. http://teacherweb.com/KY/StsPeterPaulSchool/MsLorrie/ap3.aspx
  3. http://staff.bbhcsd.org/gagnem/
  4. http://www.alaboon.com/
I believe that these four websites are very useful because the display important information on classroom activities, classroom arrangement, structure, and organization.

For example in www.prekinders.com it has four categories- learning areas, themes, printables, and classroom ideas to choose from. These categories there are sub-links that contain more valuable information and ideas to use in the classroom. I really enjoyed that this website also had a sub-links to a Christian category. This is very helpful if an educator is teaching in a Christian or private school.  Under the category Learning Areas, it contains sub-links to Literacy, Math, Science, Art and Music, Fine Motor, and Christian.  I really enjoyed the Classroom  Ideas, under this category the sub-links it contain are Teaching Tips, Assessment, Centers, and Tech for Teachers.  I really like that under the Teaching Tips there was information on first day in Pre-K, small groups, schedule, storage organization, and much more.

For example in http://teacherweb.com/KY/StsPeterPaulSchool/MsLorrie/ap3.aspx I really like that the website was very colorful and parent friendly. I believe it is important to have a website that our parents can easy explore and locate important information. The website contains many essential categories that are helpful to parents.  Some of the categories include the school calendar 2013-2014, Pre-K supply list 2013-2014, meet the teacher, 10 signs of great Pre-K program, classroom volunteers, children's songs on video, morning circle videos, and more. This is very useful because it gives parents information how to become volunteers this is crucial to have parent involvement in the students academic growth.  Also, it gives parents resources to use at home for example the children's songs on video will help parents review the songs with their children.

For example in http://staff.bbhcsd.org/gagnem/ This website is also a colorful one. The website contains many different categories that are very helpful for a parent and other teachers who explore the website.  The categories are class, school, photos, kids, parents, and teachers. Under these categories the are sub-links that contain many useful information about the classroom and important information to help our young learners. Under the category class there is an important sub-link called classroom tour, as I was looking at these pictures I could see that the educator had the students materials at the eye level of students. Also, there is also a sub-link called happy birthday and I lost a tooth club, these are sub-links that are important to the students and parents to see that their children belong and are accepted in the classroom. The students take ownership of the classroom. This is important for children to have ownership of the classroom.

For example in http://www.alaboon.com/ This is a very helpful website for educators and parents to understand the important things that are happening in the classroom. The way the categories are setup is in a table format. The categories can be distinguished easily. There are many categories presented in this website, some of those categories are updates, teacher inspirations 1-3, theme units, educational quotes, and web awards. The website also has a category called Literacy Centers and there are sub-categories of the different reading and writing centers the children can explore and work. This is very essential for children to develop strong reading and writing skills.

These were some of my favorite websites that can be useful to use and seek ideas that will help set up a positive and effective learning environment for all students.

I would like to take the time to say thank you to those who have provide the use of these websites and the essential information that has been shared!
